Candulor is expanding its UCAN Mill line of milling materials for digital processing with two new TCR tooth material disks, according to an August 4, 2025, press release from the company. The new disks, TCR Mono and TCR Multi, are available in nine shades, including a bleach variant. The TCR material, which is the 3rd generation, offers the unique advantage of being a highly cross-linked PMMA variant. It delivers impressive results that demonstrate excellent abrasion and plaque resistance. Due to the material analogy, the milled tooth elements can be combined with the PhysioSet TCR and PhysioSelect TCR tooth lines to enable hybrid production for digital as well as analog workflows.
“Safety plays a major role in the processing of medical devices, which is why we rely on material technologies that have already proven themselves in the market and with which our customers are satisfied for digital processing,” explains Alexander Ewert, director of marketing & education at Candulor. “It therefore stood to reason to develop disks made of the TCR material, so that we could also work with the PhysioSet TCR and PhysioSelect TCR tooth lines in their accustomed quality in a hybrid mode.”
The new TCR Mono and TCR Multi tooth materials also correspond to the popular impact-modified XPLEX Base disks, which boast enhanced physical properties, including a higher breaking strength when compared with conventional PMMA materials. XPLEX resin is also available for repairs. The UCAN Mill product family includes the following:
TCR Mono. An esthetic tooth-colored, monochromatic disk with a consistent coloration that is ideal for temporary solutions and available in shades: A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, B3, C2, D2, and BL3.
TCR Multi. A disk with a harmonious color gradient that results in natural esthetics without requiring subsequent characterization and is available in shades: A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, B3, C2, D2, and BL3.
XPLEX Base. A high-impact denture base material with a high breaking strength, a low discoloration tendency, minimal plaque accumulation, and good polishability that is available in shades: 34 Original Pink – semi-opaque veined, 1 Soft Pink – transparent not veined, 5 Pink – transparent veined.
Emphasizing the concept of flexibility, these CAD/CAM disks are designed to be processed in various different milling systems. Each laboratory is free to choose its own method while enjoying the assurance of proven Candulor material quality. Simply put, UCAN stands for “You Can” because the technology is backed by genuine prosthetic expertise, motivation, and the Candulor promise of quality.
