Productive Dentist Academy (PDA), through its Investment Grade Practice™ platform, has announced Unrestricted: The End to PPO Dependence, a business strategy and patient communication workshop scheduled for September 10–11, 2026, in Centennial, Colorado. The program is designed exclusively for independent dental practice owners and key team implementors seeking to evaluate revenue composition and long-term practice sustainability.
The workshop will focus on assessing revenue quality, designing a balanced revenue mix, and aligning clinical philosophy with business strategy. Organizers note that many independent practices have historically relied on insurance participation to maintain full schedules, yet over time have encountered challenges related to write-offs, administrative burden, and team stress associated with financial discussions.
Unrestricted centers on evaluating whether a practice’s revenue structure supports long-term professional autonomy and operational stability. Participants will review financial data, assess payer relationships, and develop a customized revenue mix plan intended to support ethical growth, clinical independence, and business resilience. The curriculum emphasizes ownership-level decision-making, structured patient communication, and financial systems designed to support comprehensive care.
“This two-day event seeks to restore intentional revenue control to practice owners,” says PDA Co-founder & CEO Victoria Peterson. “Dentists do not enter this profession to feel restricted by systems that quietly erode their freedom. Additionally, You do not have to be 100% fee-for-service to have a balanced, profitable, ethical practice. When owners understand the true quality of their revenue and align it with their clinical standards, they regain the ability to design a practice that supports both their patients and their long-term vision.”
A primary educational objective is redefining the role of the team in financial conversations. The workshop encourages teams to move from functioning primarily as insurance educators to serving as patient health advocates. Attendees will explore methods for communicating clinical value without centering discussions on insurance limitations, reducing friction during financial handoffs, and reinforcing trust during comprehensive care planning.
“When practices stop reacting to insurance pressure and start communicating from a place of clinical confidence, the entire culture changes,” says PDA faculty member and Unrestricted presenter Dr. Wade Kifer. “This workshop gives teams the language, structure, and confidence to advocate for patient health while protecting the integrity of the practice.”
Participants are expected to leave with a completed revenue strategy plan, defined leadership alignment between clinical and administrative team members, and implementation steps designed to minimize disruption to team dynamics or patient relationships. Attendance is limited to maintain a facilitated, collaborative learning environment.
Early registration is listed at $1,295 per person through March 31, 2026, with standard registration at $1,695. Registration includes workshop participation, materials, workbook, meals, refreshments, and continuing education credits for applicable administrative content. Travel and lodging are not included.
Independent dental owners and office managers may request participation through Productive Dentist Academy. Attendance is curated to align with the program’s intended audience.
