Ultradent Products, Inc. has expanded its fluoride varnish offerings, adding new flavors and delivery formats aimed at supporting preventive care across a range of clinical settings.
The announcement comes as discussions around community water fluoridation continue in multiple U.S. states, including the banning of public water fluoridation in Utah and Florida in 2025. The company stated that the expanded product range is intended to provide dental professionals with additional options for delivering preventive care.
“Preventive dentistry is foundational to long-term oral health,” says Dirk Jeffs, CEO of Ultradent. “As access to community fluoridation changes in some regions, the role of the dental professional becomes even more important. By expanding our fluoride varnish portfolio, we are giving clinicians practical tools to deliver evidence-based care to more patients.”
The company has added two new flavors, Vanilla and Raspberry, to its Enamelast fluoride varnish line, bringing the total to seven flavors along with a flavor-free option. The varnish features an adhesion-promoting system designed to support longer retention and increased fluoride uptake; it is applied directly to teeth and is described as having a smooth texture and nearly invisible appearance.
Ultradent has also introduced Enamelast fluoride varnish unit-dose cups, which are intended for practices that already use application brushes. The cups provide the same formulation in a bulk format designed to reduce storage needs and assist with cost management.
In addition, the company launched Gleo fluoride varnish, a 5% sodium fluoride product offered in a bulk-tube format. The varnish is designed for high-volume settings and is available in Mixed Berry and Bubble Gum flavors. According to the company, the formulation provides fluoride release and uptake while maintaining a smooth texture and minimal visible residue.
